Medical Plan Proposal 2026

Proposed Medical Plan 2026

Proposed Premiums

For the past several years, the health fund has been running a deficit. To mitigate risks associated with health care costs, a recommendation is being made to transition from our self-funded medical plan to TRS ActiveCare beginning January 1, 2027, through August 31, 2027. The district will continue to contribute $322 per month for employees taking TRS ActiveCare. In addition, the employee wellness clinic will continue to be available with a $50 copay until June 2027. The district will be locked into TRS for five years. Below are the proposed TRS transitional rates.

Note: These rates are set by TRS.

TRS-ActiveCare Primary Premium

Employee + Child(ren) $996
Employee + Family $2,292

My 2026 Medical Costs Calculator

As we transition to the new TRS-ActiveCare health plans, we want to ensure you have the tools needed to make the best decision for you and your family.

We created the My 2026 Medical Costs Calculator to help you compare your current medical plan directly against the new options. By plugging in your coverage level, you can instantly see exactly how your monthly premium costs will change.

Desktop recommended for the best experience.

How to Use the Calculator:

Step 1: Create Your Private Copy Click the "Calculate Your Plan Costs" button. You will be prompted to click a blue button that says "Make a copy." This creates a fresh, private version of the calculator saved directly to your own Google Drive. No one else can see your numbers or your plan choices.

Step 2: Enter Your Current Plan Once your copy opens, look for the section asking for your current coverage. Select your current coverage tier (Employee Only, Employee + Spouse, Employee + Children, or Employee + Family) and your current legacy plan (Plan 1, 3, 4, or 5).

Step 3: Select a New Plan to Compare Next, select the same coverage tier under the new options and pick one of the three new plans (TRS-ActiveCare Primary, Primary+, or HD) that you are considering.

Step 4: Review Your Results The calculator will automatically do the math for you! It will display the cost difference between what you pay now and what you will pay under the new plan, helping you budget for the upcoming year.

Note: The premium numbers in this calculator already reflect the district's employer contribution, so the results you see represent your true estimated out-of-pocket monthly cost.
