8th Grade Bridge to Freshman Year

The Bridge is an enriching summer school program designed specifically for students transitioning from eighth grade to high school. This program is ideal for those who need to recover learning and reinforce essential eighth-grade concepts crucial for success in high school.  Students will engage in in-person instruction complemented by tailored online coursework that meets their individual learning needs. Our dedicated, certified teachers will provide guidance and support, facilitating personalized learning experiences and conducting interviews to ensure each student's success.   • Pasadena High School (North Program) serves students from Jackson, Queens, Park View, San Jacinto, and Southmore intermediate schools
  • J. Frank Dobie High School (South Program) serves students from Beverly Hills, Bondy, Miller, South Houston, and Thompson intermediate schools

  • Session 2 for Reading & Social Studies
    • June 9-13 (Monday-Friday)

In-Person English Languages Development (ELD) Academy

New English language learners will enjoy our English Language Development (ELD) Academy this summer. This program is designed to support ongoing English language development to support academic success in the next grade.

The ELD Academy offers a dynamic curriculum that includes enriching experiences within the community, allowing students to practice their language skills in real-world settings. Join us for a transformative summer that will enhance your English proficiency and help you thrive academically!

Pasadena Advanced Math Preparation – PACcelerate!

Are you a student demonstrating early mastery of mathematical concepts? Join our PACcelerate program to accelerate your math learning and pave the way for Advanced Placement (AP) mathematics courses in high school!

In this engaging, face-to-face program, students will develop the essential skills and concepts needed to transition into the pre-AP course sequence in subsequent grades. PACcelerate offers a dynamic and fun learning environment, where highly qualified mathematics instructors provide personalized support to ensure your success. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to enhance your math abilities and prepare for future challenges!

7th to 8th Grade Promotion

This virtual program is designed for students who require additional time and practice to successfully transition to 8th grade. Tailored to meet individual needs, the course focuses on addressing learning gaps and enhancing overall academic performance.  Completion of this program of study will ensure students retain their 8th grade elective choices.  Failure to complete the assigned program may require the student to lose an 8th grade elective and instead take a intervention class during 8th grade.

Our goal is to provide targeted support that fosters confidence and mastery of key concepts, ensuring students are well-prepared for success in subsequent grades. Join us to strengthen your skills and achieve your promotion goals!

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Tuition Payment

  • Tuition payments are to be made through Skyward. 
  • The preferred method of payment is by credit card.  Make arrangements for cash payment with your school’s Counselors office.

Tuition Refunds

  • Refunds may be requested through the student’s home school’s Counselors office. 
  • Refund checks will be sent to the address you provided about 14 days after the date on your completed tuition refund request form.
  • The deadline for a refund request is Monday, June 2 at noon
  • No refund requests will be accepted after the deadline. 
  • Students who are removed from summer school for non-attendance or violations of the student code of conduct are not eligible for a tuition refund.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Conduct

Students are to follow the District Code of Conduct during summer school.  Due to the short nature of summer classes, violations of the code of conduct will result in removal from summer school and, if applicable, can result in placement at The Summit at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year.  No refunds are given for violations of the code of conduct that result in removal from summer school.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend 100% of the summer school session.  No exceptions are made for illness or appointments.  Tardiness is not tolerated.  Students who are tardy must make up all assignments and time.  After two incidents of tardiness, the student will be dropped from summer school and no tuition will be refunded.
