In-Person Learning for CREDIT RECOVERY & STAAR Review

This summer, we invite students needing to recover course credits or prepare for retaking the STAAR End of Course exams to enroll in our in-person instruction program.

Students will have the opportunity to engage in tailored online coursework designed to meet their individual learning needs. Our certified teachers will provide dedicated support, facilitating instruction and intervening as necessary to ensure each student’s success. Join us to strengthen your knowledge and achieve your academic goals!

Locations

  • Pasadena High School (North Program) serves students from PHS, SHHS, SRHS, and students in the north attendance zones who attend CTHS, and TCS
  • J. Frank Dobie High School (South Program) serves students from DHS, PMHS, and students in the south attendance zones who attend CTHS, and TCS

Remote Learning for INITIAL CREDIT

This summer, students looking to stay on track for graduation while accommodating dual credit courses, extracurricular activities, and career pathway coursework can enroll in initial credit courses through Pasadena Virtual School.

Our program offers a flexible remote learning environment, supported by a live certified instructor who provides continuous assistance. Students will receive ongoing support for technology, content-related questions, and motivation to help them succeed. Take this opportunity to advance your education and maintain your academic trajectory!

  • Remote learning location is student-driven
  • Support for learning and technology issues is available

In-Person ADVANCED MATHEMATICS ACADEMY

Are you ready to elevate your mathematics skills and prepare for AP Calculus and beyond? Join our Advanced Mathematics Academy this summer!

Students can choose to enroll in Pre-AP Geometry or Honors PreCalculus, delivered in an engaging face-to-face format. This intense, fast-paced program is designed to challenge and inspire students, with the support of highly qualified mathematics instructors who are dedicated to your success. In-Person ENGLISH for SPEAKERS of OTHER LANGUAGES (ESOL) ACADEMY

We invite new English language learners to join our ESOL Academy this summer, designed to support your continued English language development!

In addition to enhancing your language skills, students have the opportunity to earn any English course credits they may have missed due to mid-semester enrollment. The ESOL Academy incorporates enriching experiences within the community, allowing students to practice their English in real-world settings. Join us for an engaging and supportive summer that will empower you on your language journey!

COLLEGIATE SCHOLARS

Join our Collegiate Scholars program this summer, designed for high-performing students seeking to enhance their PSAT/SAT skills and increase their chances of achieving National Merit recognition.

This intensive program offers targeted, personalized learning experiences over 10 days, with classes lasting approximately 3.5 hours each day. Best of all, tuition is free for qualified students. Take advantage of this opportunity to sharpen your skills and maximize your potential for success!

GRADUATION RECOVERY

If you are not on track to graduate with your class, consider enrolling in our Graduation Recovery program at Tegeler Community School. Please note that space is limited, and priority will be given to 12th-grade students.

Our program offers both initial and remedial credit classes in a face-to-face setting, utilizing a self-paced, blended learning format. Students may enroll in up to 4 classes to earn a maximum of 2.0 credits. Enrollment is available only with a Counselor’s recommendation. Don’t miss this opportunity to get back on track and achieve your graduation goals!

STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) EXAM RETESTING

Students who did not meet the STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) standards are invited to participate in retesting at their designated campus: DHS, PHS, or CTHS, based on their home school.

This is a valuable opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and improve your scores. Take the next step toward academic success by participating in the retesting process!

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Tuition Payment

  • Tuition for initial credit and credit recovery is $75 per half credit.  
  • Test preparation courses (no credit) are FREE. 
  • Tuition for Graduation Recovery Tegeler Community School is $150 for up to 4 half credits.
  • Tuition payments are to be made through Skyward. 
  • The preferred method of payment is by credit card.  Make arrangements for cash payment with your school’s Counselors office.

Tuition Refunds

  • Refunds may be requested through the student’s home school’s Counselors office. 
  • Refund checks will be sent to the address you provided about 14 days after the date on your completed tuition refund request form.
  • The deadline for a refund request is Monday, June 2 at noon
  • No refund requests will be accepted after the deadline. 
  • Students who are removed from summer school for non-attendance or violations of the student code of conduct are not eligible for a tuition refund.

Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT

Conduct

Students are to follow the District Code of Conduct during summer school.  Due to the short nature of summer classes, violations of the code of conduct will result in removal from summer school and, if applicable, can result in placement at The Summit at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year.  No refunds are given for violations of the code of conduct that result in removal from summer school.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend 100% of the summer school session.  No exceptions are made for illness or appointments.  Tardiness is not tolerated.  Students who are tardy must make up all assignments and time.  After two incidents of tardiness, the student will be dropped from summer school and no tuition will be refunded.
