Davis, Latoya
HOF Class of 2018
From South Houston High School to Texas Tech University, LaToya Davis made her mark as one of the most dominant basketball players to ever come out of Pasadena ISD. A four-time first-team All-District selection and three-time District MVP at South Houston, Davis led the Lady Trojans to their first regional tournament appearance while setting the school’s career scoring record. She was the Greater Houston area’s leading scorer for three straight years, averaging more than 24 points and 11 rebounds as a junior and delivering a 51-point game as a senior.
Her transition to college basketball was seamless. By her junior year at Texas Tech, Davis had earned a starting role and quickly became the Lady Raiders’ go-to forward. As a senior, she posted team-best averages of 28.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and a 59.7 shooting percentage, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors, team MVP, and recognition as one of 10 national finalists for the Senior CLASS Award. Over her career, she recorded 17 double-doubles and set a school-record 60.2 percent career field goal percentage that still stands today.
Following college, Davis extended her career professionally in Europe, playing five seasons before retiring in 2011. Her combination of power, consistency, and leadership continues to stand as a benchmark for excellence in Pasadena ISD athletics.
