Mrs. Brown is the library coordinator for Pasadena ISD Library and Instructional Resources. A graduate of Clear Lake High School, Mrs. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Broadcasting from the University of Houston’s main campus. Furthering her education, Mrs. Brown obtained a Master’s in School Library and a Master’s in Education Management.
Beginning her library career as a school librarian at Bailey Elementary in PISD, Mrs. Brown dedicated 17 years to serving as a school librarian. Her expertise and leadership led her to the role of library coordinator for FBISD. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Mrs. Brown was honored as Campus Teacher of the Year in 2016 in CCISD and was named School Library Journal’s Librarian of the Year in 2017, a national award.
A past President of the Texas Association of School Library Administrators, Mrs. Brown has made significant contributions to the field through professional articles published in School Library Journal and Scholastic’s On Our Minds. She has also shared her insights and expertise at numerous conferences, including the Texas Library Association Conference, American Library Association Conference, and the Association of School Librarians Conference.
Outside of her professional achievements, Mrs. Brown enjoys spending quality time with her family, cherishing the moments that bring balance and joy to her life.
