Pasadena ISD Multilingual Programs Gain Attention Following Rice Study

Pasadena, TX - Pasadena ISD is being recognized on a broader stage following a recent visit from Telemundo, to feature the district’s work in impacting multilingual education.
The feature comes as a new study from Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research points to promising early results from the district’s dual-language programs. The study began during the 2023–24 school year as Pasadena ISD transitioned from a traditional model to a sustained dual-language approach, allowing researchers to evaluate how the shift impacts student learning.
During the visit, Telemundo highlighted Pasadena ISD’s approach to multilingual education, bringing attention to the district’s efforts to support students learning in two languages and the impact of those programs in the classroom.
The visit highlighted the district’s ongoing efforts in multilingual education, giving students and staff an opportunity to share their experiences and demonstrate how multilingual learning is integrated into the classroom.
The recognition also highlights Pasadena ISD’s continued focus on expanding dual-language opportunities and supporting a diverse student population, positioning the district as a leader in multilingual education across the region.
