Snelson, Bo

HOF Class of 2022

A four-sport standout at Pasadena Memorial High School, Bo Snelson combined athletic excellence with natural leadership. He lettered in football, track and field, baseball, and powerlifting, but it was on the football field where he made history—scoring 57 touchdowns in his junior and senior seasons, earning All-State honors, and being named District Offensive MVP. Under the leadership of his father and coach, John Snelson, Bo helped guide the Mavericks to the school’s first bi-district and area championships. In 2008, his talent and leadership were recognized nationally when he was named an Old Spice Red Zone National Player of the Year, joining a list that included NFL greats like Tim Tebow.

On the track, Bo set records that still stand today, including a school-best 4x200 relay time, and he placed third at the Texas State Track & Field Championships in the 4x100 relay. By the time he graduated in 2009, he had rushed for 4,078 yards—more than any Pasadena ISD player before him.

Bo continued his career at the United States Naval Academy, where he played four years of football, competed in three bowl games, and was voted team co-captain by his teammates—one of the academy’s highest athletic honors. In 2011, he contributed to a Navy offense ranked No. 4 nationally in rushing. After commissioning, he graduated from the Marine Corps Officer’s School and now serves as a Series Commander and Infantry Officer in San Diego.

Bo’s induction into the Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame is also a family affair, as he joins his father John, uncle Andy, and grandmother Billie in being honored.
