Pasadena ISD earns 2025 TAEA District of Distinction honor

PASADENA, Texas — Pasadena Independent School District has been named a 2025 District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association, placing the district among the top 8 percent of art programs in the state.
The award recognizes districts that provide a well-rounded education through a strong visual arts curriculum, encouraging creativity and student engagement while connecting learners to their community and beyond. Pasadena ISD was selected based on its commitment to quality arts instruction and participation in special programs and community art events.
“Pasadena ISD Fine Arts is deeply honored to once again be recognized as a District of Distinction for Visual Art by TAEA and as a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation,” said Michael Holt, director of fine arts for Pasadena ISD. “These prestigious accolades reflect our district’s long-standing commitment to fine arts education and the incredible dedication of our amazing students, educators, and the entire Pasadena community.”
This is the seventh year TAEA has presented the District of Distinction Award. For the 2025 recognition, more than 1,200 districts were eligible to apply. Each district submitted documentation demonstrating achievement across a 14-point rubric during the 2024–25 school year. Only 109 districts met the criteria.
Pasadena ISD and the other honorees will be recognized at the TAEA District of Distinction Awards Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 21, during the TAEA Fall Conference in Round Rock.
