PASADENA, Texas (May 16, 2025) — Pasadena Independent School District celebrates its 2025 Teachers of the Year during the district’s annual ceremony, recognizing outstanding educators who go above and beyond in their commitment to student success.

The event honors teachers from across the district for their dedication, innovation, and impact in the classroom. In addition to recognition, honorees receive prizes and a check from sponsors to support their continued efforts in education.

2025 Pasadena ISD Overall Teachers of the Year:

  • New Elementary Teacher of the Year: Alfredia Smith, Red Bluff Elementary

  • New Middle School Teacher of the Year: Alexa Castro, Lomax Middle School

  • New Intermediate Teacher of the Year: Karen Pulido, San Jacinto Intermediate

  • New High School Teacher of the Year: Obed Gauna, South Houston High School

  • Elementary Teacher of the Year: Orlando Santamaria, Morris Middle School

  • Secondary Teacher of the Year: Daniela Amaya, V.W. Miller Intermediate School
