Melissa Rippy

Director of Libraries & Instructional Materials

Melissa is a proud native Texan and Houstonian as well as a self-professed life-long learner. Melissa graduated from Clear Lake High School. She holds a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in History from Baylor University, a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Baylor University and a Master of Science in School Library and Information Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Melissa began her teaching career in La Marque ISD as a sixth-grade Language Arts Teacher. Melissa started her career in Pasadena ISD as a fifth-grade classroom teacher at Kruse Elementary. She has held positions as a third-grade teacher, Elementary Campus Librarian, District Instructional Technology Specialist, Libraries Manager, and Libraries Specialist. She is honored to have assumed the role of Director of Libraries & Instructional Materials in 2019.

With over
 30 years of experience, Melissa has excelled in curriculum collaboration, instructional responsibilities, campus library program support, and leadership roles. Her commitment is first and foremost is access for all students to libraries with quality resources while ensuring that campus libraries and librarians support and help foster student achievement.
