The following procedures shall be
utilized in the event a building principal is required to reduce
professional staff due to budgetary reasons, program change or
shifts in enrollment, by use of involuntary, intra-district
transfers:
1. In the event there are no
volunteers, the principal shall select the
employee(s) to be transferred in a
nondiscriminatory manner, by
application of one or more of the following
criteria (not listed in order of
importance, except that in no event may job
performance be the primary
criteria):
a. Program need
b. Student enrollment
c. Credentials
d. Professional development
e. Years of service with P.I.S.D.
f. Years of service with school
g. Job performance
h. Any other lawful criteria
2. Upon selection of the employee(s)
to be transferred, the principal shall
report same in writing to the Deputy
Superintendent, setting forth the
specific rationale for such selection. The
principal may be required to
appear before a committee to discuss their
selection and/or submit any
additional materials requested.
3. Approval of the Superintendent
shall be required for any transfer in which
the employee selected has been involuntarily
transferred within P.I.S.D.
the previous school year. |
