SAFETY PROGRAM: EMERGENCY PLANS

EMERGENCY PLANS	All district facilities shall develop an emergency plan to be followed should the facility be opened by the Superintendent as a disaster shelter. Such a plan should include a chain of command, a list of key personnel and their assignments during an emergency, and instructions in emergency PBX operations.
CONDUCT OF SCHOOL	In the event of an emergency, the District shall conduct school as usual unless ordered otherwise by the governmental authorities or deemed necessary by the administration. Notice of changes in the conduct of school shall be announced by the Superintendent or designee. Should an emergency occur during school hours, students will be kept in school until it is sufficiently safe for them to travel home or for their parents to come for them.
COMMUNICATIONS	Each school facility shall be equipped with transistor radios for use during emergencies.
