GIFTS TO SCHOOLS

Any organization, company individual, or group that wished to donate anything to the District or to a school must have the approval of the superintendent or designee. Approval of the Board is required when the value of the gift or donation exceeds $2,000.

CASH DONATIONS

Cash donations up to $2,000 made to individual campuses are subject to the approval of the principal, provided it is designated for the direct benefit of needy students, improvement of the instructional program, or improvement of the campus.

Upon approval and receipt of the funds, the principal shall deposit such funds in the school’s activity account.

The principal may appoint a committee of teachers and representatives of the donating origination to suggest specific uses for such funds. The principal shall approve all expenditures and observe the District’s purchasing procedures when expending donated funds.

RECORDS OF DONATIONS

Each principal shall keep an up-to-date ledger which shows receipt of all donations and purchases made with money donated.

A record of any donation valued at more than $300 shall be sent to the superintendent’s office for recognition purposes.
