Williams Elementary is located on the western edge of Pasadena, near state highwy 225 on Scarborough Lane. Our school is located in a family neighborhood and serves approximately 750 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.

Our staff includes 50 full time teachers plus a wide range of support personnel. We offer a variety of programs to meet the many specific needs of each student. Special Education, Gifted and Talented and Bilingual/ESL opportunities are available at all levels.

We always look for ways to recognize our students and their individual successes. Award programs are planned around key accomplishments. As a campus family, we enjoy sharing in the celebration when our students excel academically and/or physically.

Williams also participates in the "Right Choice" program. Recognizing our students’ best behavior has focused the entire campus in a positive direction. Students are learning to make the best or "right" choice in a variety of conflict situations.

Blending well with our "Right Choice" implementation is the addition of our Peer Mediation program. Each year, 20 of our fourth and fifth grade students, along with 20 staff members complete training through the Harris County Judicial system. This program promotes mediation as a positive means to solve differences between individuals.

The special programs offered at Williams all encourage students to excel. The addition of Accelerated Reader (AR), a computer-based reading program, has had a great impact on increasing our students’ personal reading. Students push ahead with reading as they simultaneously work to earn "points" by passing computerized tests.

Many school-wide programs which promote learning at all levels are a campus science fair, our vocal and recorder choirs and our new HOSTS program.

Strong parental and community involvement programs assist us in building solid home and school connections. We have a very active and productive PTA whose volunteer work and numerous resources help to make our campus a true "family."

It is because of these solid connections that our school has been awarded as a Texas Successful School during the 1995-96, 1996-97, 1999-00 and 2000-01 school years.

At Williams, our daily mission is to provide a positive learning environment that promotes the self worth and success of all our students.
