Results from 7th Grade Girls Basketball

Yesterday, the Lady Lions traveled to Southmore Intermediate to take on the Bulldogs. The dark team took the court first and took an early lead only to see Southmore come back and tie it up. Neither team was able to get it going offensively as both teams played tough defense throughout the game. A game tying last second three barely missed going in the basket, and the Lions fell in a closely contested contest 8-11.

The light team was ready for the Bulldogs, but after a slow first quarter, the Lions only led by 2 points. During the second, the Lions turned on the pressure and raised their intensity to increase their lead to double digits. By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Lions had blown the game wide open. A furious rally by Southmore cut the lead to nine points, but it was too much of an uphill climb, as the Lions clamped down and took back control of the game winning 51-34.

Next week, the Lions will play their last road game of the season against the Bondy Patriots. Go Lions!
