Solution: You MUST be logged into the network.
IF you are sure your machine is logged in correctly, then RIGHT-click on
the shortcut icon and choose Properties. Make sure your screen matches
this |

Challenge: When I login to the gradebook, I get
this screen: |
Solution: You probably misspelled your login
name. Cancel, DO NOT Create a New Template!, and be very careful as you
enter your login name again. |
Challenge: You have no Average in the last
Column.
Solution: Probably, the first column in that
subject was deleted. (All the other columns "emulate" the
first column. If the first is deleted, no calculations are done.
Edit the first column description, and be sure the assignment link is
Assignments (if this is not a choice
see below)

Challenge: You cannot type in any grades.

Solution: You are probably in a 'wrong' view.
The ONLY View you should ever be in is Grades.

Challenge: The printed report card doesn't fit
on the page.
Solution: In Internet Explorer, click on FILE,
PAGE SETUP:
Remove the header and footer
Reduce the margins to the smallest number possible (type in 0's, the
computer will assign the smallest number possible)
If this doesn't solve the problem, print to another printer (preferably a
laser printer)

Challenge: When I get home, my gradebook does
not appear in the list (I see American History and other subjects)
Solution: You need to change the class file
location.
Click on Options -- File Locations. Make sure the class file location is
a:\classes
Challenge: When I get home, my most current
grades from school are not there.
Solution: You probably didn't actually check out
your gradebook at home. You must highlight your class file name (it
will turn blue) before you click on check out
Challenge: There is no assignment to choose in
the assignment link box..
Solution: You probably went to define
assignments, not define grades when you were adding descriptions to
columns. The only 2 things you should ever have to define are grades and
general information. Ask your Excelsior contact for help.
