Carroll Preston Teague Elementary is more than bricks and books.  It is a living, learning environment shaped by educators who continuously plan for students' success.  Realizing that each child is unique and learns differently, Teague's modified open concept allows teachers the flexibility to group students within a pod that meets their individual needs.  The use of initiatives and strategies to promote excellence is just one example of their belief and commitment to accomplishing our motto: "Nothing Less Than Success".  The Texas Education Agency  awarded our staff for its academic performance with the Texas Successful Schools Award in 1995 and 1999. Teague also earned the states' highest possible rating of Exemplary for the 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 school years. This was the first time that a campus in the Pasadena I.S.D. was designated with this honor in four consecutive years.

Parental and community involvement are important factors in Teague's achievements.  An active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has provided the school with numerous resources that enrich the learning environment and school climate.  Besides providing additional teaching materials, the PTA is responsible for the playground and track at the school.  Parents and community members also serve on the Site Based Decision Making Committee that formulates the Campus Improvement Plan.  This strong parent volunteer program helps the school accomplish its goals and makes a significant difference in the educational program.

Teague Elementary commits itself to maximizing educational opportunities for all students so they may perform to the best of their ability and meet the challenges of the future.  Approximately 500 students attend the school in grades kindergarten through fifth.  A variety of programs help the students demonstrate mastery of basic and advanced skills appropriate to their educational needs.   Some of the programs include the following: Gifted and Talented, Special Education, DARE, Computer Aided Instruction, Accelerated Reader, Extended Day and Year.

At the time Teague Elementary opened its doors in 1976 the principal said, "Our staff takes its job seriously and is dedicated to attending to the learning needs of every child within these walls."  Although over 20 years have passed since that statement was made, the same holds true today.   Excellence is a tradition at Teague, where a caring and dedicated staff ensures "Nothing Less Than Success" for its students.
