THE RESEARCH PAPER

TEN EASY STEPS TO GREAT RESEARCH PAPERS

Objective:

(1)Students will explore various topics and questions to begin their research.

(2)Students will do their research completely from this site.

(3)Students will be able to proof read and correct their papers using this site.

Website:  www.Researchpaper.com

Procedure:

(1)The teacher should peruse the site first to familiarize himself with all areas.

(2)Students will click on the site.

(3)Direct students to the school subject area to be researched. Areas are: Art & Literature, History, Science, Business, and Society.

(4)Have students use the questions provided there or use the search engines for a pre-approved question.

(5)Students have a choice of the Electric Library or Infoseek. Electric Library is free for the first 30 days...then students are charged $9.95 per month. Infoseek is always FREE.

(6)After a selection for the topic and question is made, students IMMEDIATELY begin their research. Don't forget to bookmark the pages!

(7)When all sources are gathered and printed students will proceed to the Writing Center section of the site. This will help them get started.

(8)When the rough draft is written, and before it is turned in, students must check all grammar, sentence construction, spelling, etc. also located in the Writing Center.

(9)The teacher will check for content, mechanics, and documentation in the rough drafts.

(10)Students will correct the rough draft and check one more time in the Writing Center for further help. Students may also go to the Discussion Area and post a question to the experts on writing at the Purdue University Writing Lab.
