With
Mrs. Dunford
In Mrs. Dunford’s room, students learn about melody
and harmony. They discover the formal structure of music and explore its
expressive qualities. Students spend time each week singing, listening,
moving, and playing instruments. Third and fourth grade students use the
Yamaha Music in Education digital keyboards.

TWO DAYS
With Mr. Nguyen
In Mr. Nguyen’s room, students learn about melody and
rhythm. Each grade level learns a group of core songs and basic music
theory. Students learn to read, write, and compose music. Students apply
their knowledge of music theory when they sing and play instruments.
Third and fourth grade students also learn to play the soprano recorder.

FRIDAYS
Combined Classes
On Fridays, classes are combined for special lessons
about instruments of the orchestra. Students see, hear, and touch real
instruments! Sometimes we have special guest performers.
