Sparks Elementary celebrates
25 years
of Shining Stars
Sparks Elementary will be celebrating
its 25th Anniversary with a Hollywood theme of events
occurring off and on during the day of Friday, May 9th.
Movie stars of stage and screen will be seen
roaming all over Sparks that day. A Photo Booth will be available to
capture the stars of the day and evening.
Students will be treated to Happy Birthday cake
at lunch.
The schools corner stone and time capsule will
be unveiled.
In our Library, there will be a Museum display
of Sparks’ memorabilia and achievements.
Our precious namesake, Genevieve Sparks passed
away several years ago but her memory will be brought back to our
students and staff with a visit from her 4 sons who will be bringing
photographs and remembrances of their mom.
We are planning to have Trivia questions
answering the much anticipated mysteries of “Everything you ever
wanted to know about Sparks Elementary during the first 25 years but
did not know who to ask.”
We will be culminating the day with an Open
House for the Public from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Former teachers, support
staff, and students are invited to attend the Open House and events
planned for the evening. The school and classrooms will be open with
teachers and staff greeting visitors. Sparks walls and halls will have
student work displayed. In the cafeteria, there will be a slide show
of Sparks’ 25 years, movie theater concessions, cookies and punch
served. The Photo Booth will again be open for families to have
another snapshot opportunity.
Sparks Elementary is located at 2503 E. Southmore
between Preston and Burke. With our convenient location in Pasadena,
former students and staff find it easy to drop in occasionally to
visit and see what good things are still going on at Sparks.
