Into the Ocean
Lesson Plan
| Week 1 | Students will be introduced to the Super3 Research Process by listening to the story, The Great White Man-Eating Shark by Margaret Mahy and how the main character, Norvin had to make his plan to solve his problem. Next, students will be given the task of creating a pattern using connecting cubes during which they have to use the Super3 process. Finally, students will be introduced to the computer program, Kidpix and will practice using it to become familiar with it in order to produce their book about the ocean. |
| Week 2 | Students will use library books to learn about the ocean habitat and the fish, mammals, plants, etc. found in the ocean. Next, they will continue practicing using Kidpix by completing an ocean picture. |
| Week 3 | Students will use Kidpix to create their books about their trip to the Aquarium and about the ocean habitat that they've been learning about. |
