 Cheerleading Training Camp

Who is invited: This camp is open to anyone from elementary school through high school.  
When: Saturday, March 7, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m..  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

Where: South Houston High School, 3820 S. Shaver St., South Houston, TX 77587, (Registration/drop-off/pick-up will be at the Boy’s Gym off the Edgebrook side of the school.)

Cost: $25.00 (Cash only please), Payable at the time of registration on the day of the camp.

Each participant will receive a special participation gift from the South Houston Cheerleaders that will include a CD of the music used at the camp!

Pre-registration: Please e-mail your child’s name, age, and grade level to the address below.  This will allow the staff to properly establish divisions according to age or grade levels.  To save you time on registration day, you can print out the registration form prior to the camp day.  Then all you have to do is turn in the completed form with your payment on the day of the camp.  Download the registration form from the South Houston Cheer web page, www.pasadenaisd.org/sohohs/cheer.htm.

What to bring to camp/how to prepare for camp:   

• Signed registration form (also available on-site at camp registration) and payment. 

• Lunch!! Lunch will not be provided.  Please bring a “brown bag” lunch and some snacks

• Water and/or drink money

• Small towel (for sweat)

• Eat a good breakfast; since we will be very active, milk and yogurt may not be the best choice right before arrival to camp

• Be ready with any questions you may want to ask about try-outs or about being a cheerleader

• Tennis shoes- no sandals or flip-flops!  If you know what shoes you are going to use for try-outs, it is best to wear those to practice in.

• No jewelry

• Wear work-out gear…something easy to move and jump in; preferably no pockets; no slippery materials please, such as wind pants or shorts; if you know what you are going to wear for try-outs, you may want to wear it, so you can practice how you will move in it.

• Your energy, spirit, and smile!

Drop-off:  Drop-off will be at the Boys’ Gym along the Edgebrook side of the school.  This is also where registration will be held.  Parents/Guardians please make sure that your child brings a registration/waiver form signed by you prior to arrival if they are riding to camp with someone other than you. 

Pick-up:   Pick-up will be from the boys’ gym on the Edgebrook side of the school.  All participants will participate in a “show-off” at the conclusion of the camp for friends and family.  We will highlight some of the camp material they learned during the camp.  We will begin this at approximately 1:40 p.m.  Release will be at 2:00p.m.
