  Officers Summer Calendar Awards and Recognition
To All Mighty Trojan Band Members and Parents:

Summer vacation is almost here and while we are all ready to have some time off, it is already time to begin preparing for the 2009-2010 South Houston High School Trojan Band season!

This year is shaping up to be an exciting one with our show “Journey of Man”! We are also working on going on a trip to Florida and the Walt Disney World Resort! I know everyone will want to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually perform in a Disney parade for tens of thousands of spectators from all over the world!

Included with this letter is a schedule of Trojan Band summer band rehearsals for 2009.  Attendance to all summer rehearsals is required. It is so important that everyone be at rehearsals so we can learn the music and drill needed for football and marching. Please schedule your vacations, trips and outings early in the summer so your child can be at all rehearsals!

There will be two days of officer meetings and freshmen only practice before rehearsals start for the entire band, so please check the schedule and make plans to be back in town and ready to go.

In order for the band to be its’ very best, we must strive to have 100% effort from every student. We have high expectations of you as well as ourselves. We ask that each of you be willing to try your hardest and best!  Anything less should never be accepted! Self-discipline, attendance, punctuality, cooperation and teamwork are needed in order to be successful.

We are also proud of the fact that everyone in band is on “the varsity”! We want everyone to be part of the band, so if you’re not signed up it’s not too late! We are looking for great things to happen as we begin our new adventure and a new year as members of the Mighty Trojan Band! SOHO!!!!!!!!!

After-school band rehearsals begin today from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. A schedule for all other rehearsals will be passed out to everyone, but will usually be 3:30 to 5:30 PM after school each day except football game days.
