About Richey
Richey Elementary opened in 1951 and has been remodeled several times. Most recently, an educational wing was built to accommodate our growing population. Our school has a diverse group of students including 4 percent white, less than one percent Asian, less than one percent black, less than one percent Native American, and 95% percent Hispanic.

We have a variety of programs to meet the needs of each child. They include content mastery, resource and gifted and talented programs, general music program, physical education and LRC reading/technology program.

"A Great Place to Learn" is the motto of the Richey American Eagles who dedicate themselves to academics. Our staff and students pride themselves on letting nothing stand in the way of success. At Richey, we believe that our school can make a difference, all students can learn and learning to read and write is a priority.

In addition, Richey students and staff enjoy valuable interaction with our community.   The Lyondell-Citgo Corporation is our primary business partner, who offers support to our school on a continuous basis.
