Children can check out as many books as they return after initial checkout.  Example:  Child in 4th grade returns 2 books out of 4.  He/she can check out 2 books.

There will be a one week grace period for books that are not returned.  After that, the child will need to bring the book back to the library to be renewed.  This will help with students who keep books extended periods of time and end up losing them.

Damage to Library Books

We need to stress to students the need for taking care of their library books and checking books for damage before they leave the library to make sure the books are not damaged.  Any damage found in books should be reported to the librarian or to the teacher.   Severe damage must be repaired by the librarian.  Students will be charged for damage to library books.  The charges will be determined by the librarian on a per case bases.

Students will be charged 1.00 for removing or damaging a barcode.  The library must be able to read the barcodes in order to check in the book.

Books that are damaged to the point were they are no longer usable will be charged the price of the book as always.  Example:  Mold in book, page torn out that can not be repaired, etc.  Please stress the importance of taking care of library books with your students.
