Thanks to those who rolled up their sleeves…

The staff at Golden Acres Elementary thanks everyone for supporting a recent blood drive for Memorial High School student Jackie Barnstable, daughter of Golden Acres secretary Cindy Barnstable. Approximately 105 people were screened with 74 units of blood being donated. Jackie is out of ICU, but still in the hospital awaiting a liver transplant.

Richey Health Fair set for Feb. 25

Richey Elementary will host its annual ‘Health Fair’ from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the campus Feb. 25. At the event, Texas Children’s Hospital will provide age appropriate health information. Dental screenings will be available, and health related information will be provided by the American Red Cross. The YMCA will feature and inform the public about its counseling services and the Allendale Bone and Joint clinic will provide chiropractic information. There will be rides and amusements for the kids, along with refreshments.

Community book sale at Memorial

Pasadena Memorial High School’s Maverick Library is sponsoring a Scholastic Community Book Sale from 7:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m., Feb. 28-March 2 in room 034 at the school. All books are 50 percent off. There are books for all ages and interests.

Spring Cleaning! Morales fund-raising garage sale planned

Morales Elementary will hold a fund-raising garage sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 18 on the school campus. All proceeds will go toward the school’s new playground. If you are interested in donating items for garage sale, please call the school to set up a time when they may be dropped off. For more information or questions, call the school at 713-740-0664.
