Sept. 29, 2003 LaPorte Invitational, Bay Forest Golf Club

The Sam Rayburn Varsity Golf Team started the year in fine fashion with a 3rd place finish in the team competition at the LaPorte Invitational at Bay Forest Golf Club. Mark Ripley started his junior year in fine fashion with a 3rd place finish with a great score of 72. The other team scores were Clayton Cauthen 79, Dominic Alvarado 81, Casey Woodward 81, Cole Swanson 91.

Feb. 02, 2004 Baytown Invitational, Goose Creek Country Club

The Sam Rayburn Varsity Golf Team kicked off the spring season in outstanding fashion by winning the Team Championship with a team score of 309. The team scores were Dominic Alvarado 76, Mark Ripley 77, Cameron Morrison 77, Clayton Cauthen 79, Cole Swanson 88! Also Dominic Alvarado's score of 76 was good enough for a second place finish in the individual competition.

Feb. 09, 2004 Clear Creek Invitational, South Shore Harbor Country Club

The Sam Rayburn Varsity Golf Team competed in the Clear Creek Invitational and finished with a team score of 322 which was good enough for a 4th place finish. The team scores were Mark Ripley 73, Dominic Alvarado 81, Cole Swanson 84, Cameron Morrison 84, and Clayton Cauthen 85. Mark Ripley finished in a 3-way tie for second place in the individual competition. On the first playoff hole, Mark defeated the #1 player from Deer Park and the #1 player from Clear Creek to win sole possission of 2nd place.

Feb. 17, 2004 Pearland JV Invitational, Clear Creek Golf Club

Sam Rayburn JV golfer Alfonso Phillips took 2nd place in the individual competition with a strong score of 81.

Mar. 15, 2004 Pearland Invitational, Golfcrest Country Club

The Sam Rayburn Varsity Golf Team competed in the Pearland High School Spring Invitational at Golfcrest Country Club. The team was able to grind out a 3rd place finish in very wet conditions. Team scores were Mark Ripley 74, Dominic Alvarado 78, Clayton Cauthen 86, Cameron Morrison 87, Cole Swanson 92. Furthermore, Mark Ripley's 74 was tied for 1st place with 2 others at the end of the 18 hole event. Mark was able to take the playoff 3 holes deep before he lost the playoff and received 3rd place overall in the individual competition! Also Dominic Alvarado's score of 78 put him in a tie for 5th place. Dominic birdied the first playoff hole to win sole possession of 5th place over Jason Narron of Pasadena Memorial.
