Chris Bussey

A graduate of Deer Park High School, attended McNeese State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in health and human performance. Coaching for seven years, he is beginning his fifth year at Sam Rayburn.

Mike Woodley - Athletic Director/Head Coach

Coach Woodley begins his 29th season as a coach and first year as the Rayburn head coach. Woodley was a 2nd team All-American defensive back at the University of Northern Iowa in 1973. He and his wife Betsy, have four sons, Brian, Matthew, Andy (new Rayburn assistant) and Joey who is currently playing and is captain of the Iowa State football team.

Steve Cloud - Assistant Head Coach & Offensive Line

Cloud attended the University of Houston and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education. 30 years coaching, 11 at Sam Rayburn.

Billy Hurry - Outside Linebackers

A Sam Rayburn graduate, Hurry attended college at the University of Houston. He has been a teacher/coach for 28 years in P.I.S.D.

Lance Botkin - Defensive Coordinator & Defensive Line

Botkin attended Dobie High School. From there, he played football and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Arkansas University. Married with a four-year-old daughter and 1 1/2-year-old son. Five years coaching, all at Sam Rayburn.

Grochett is a Texas A&M University graduate. He has a Bachelor degree in History/Geography. Eight years coaching, fourth year at Sam Rayburn.

Mullenax attended Southern Arkansas University. Five years coaching, fourth year at Sam Rayburn.

Gerardo Espinoza - Offensive Line

Espinoza is a graduate of Pasadena High. He graduated from Sam Houston State University & UHCL. After 25 years at South Houston High School, he has coached at Sam Rayburn one year.

Barger is a guaduate of Florida State University. He has been coaching for six years. He is married with one daughter.

Donny Boynton - Freshman Linebackers/Runningbacks

A 1993 Sam Rayburn graduate, Boynton received a bachelors degree in Biology from Stephen F. Austin University. He has three years coaching experience. This is his second year as football coach.

Robert Stock - Defensive Secondary

Originally from Pasadena, Coach Stock graduated from theUniversity of Houston. He has been coaching for 15 years. He is married and has one daughter.

Paul Hinson - Freshman Secondary & Receivers

Hinson is in his first year at Rayburn. He is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and received a masters degree from Texas A&M University. He has three years of coaching experience at the college level.

Randi Cole - Assistant Trainer

Cole begins her third year at Sam Rayburn. She graduated from East Central University with a B.S. APER (Athletic Training) (Teaching Certificate).
