School ENCORE!
The purpose of this organization is to promote and maintain school spirit and sportsmanship; to provide entertainment in cooperation with the school and civic organizations; and to develop character, leadership, and individual responsibility while maintaining high moral standards. ENCORE! must represent Sam Rayburn High School in a manner which reflects credit upon the school, the organization, and each of its members.
1. Members of ENCORE! must be members of the top performing choir. 2. Singers must be physically capable of dancing, singing, and performing all required music and choreography. 3. Members must be able to attend after school rehearsals and performances of both groups. 4. Members are expected to participate in the following choir activities:
5. Any act that damages the public image of the school or the group will be considered a serious offense and may result in dismissal from the group. 6. Members must maintain academic eligibility. Members will be placed on probation the first time they become ineligible and will be dismissed from the organization if eligibility is not regained.
1. You must be willing to cooperate with others so that we perform as a group; individual exhibitions should be limited to solo performances only. 2. You must be willing to accept criticism that will help us attain our goal of excellence in all performances. 3. You must be willing to abide by the rules and follow directions. 4. You must enjoy learning and performing songs and choreography. 5. You must demonstrate responsibility at all times. 6. You must learn to act; every performance should be the best you can do, regardless of personal feelings or circumstances. 7. You must have excellence as your goal; the kind of excellence that results from hard work, strength, determination, and self-discipline. · Attendance 1. Each member is required to attend all rehearsals and performances. 2. Absences will be considered unexcused except for personal illness and a death in the family. Other absences may be excused; these will be considered individually. 3. Members participating in other organizations will be expected to contact both teachers ahead of time so that a reasonable compromise may be reached. 4. Members who hold jobs are expected to arrange their work schedule around their school performance schedule 5. ALWAYS let the directors know ahead of time if you foresee any problems.
1. All members must demonstrate proficiency on each song before being allowed to perform. 2. Uniforms must be worn, as determined by the directors and the occasion. 3. Uniforms must be clean and in good condition. 4. Each member will be required to assist in transporting equipment and materials to and from performance locations. I
