Text Box: College information for Parents and students . April 7, GEAR UP Parent Meeting on “ Summer Camps” from 7-8 pm. May 8, UHCLC field trip. There will be two trips to the University of Houston sometime in April and May. One trip will focus on students interested in going into the teaching field. Text Box: GEAR UP will take a bus load of students and parents to “Aggieland Saturday”, February 21. There are only a few spots left. March 6, interested science students will have a field trip to UH outstanding Physics Department. On Tuesday, March 10, GEAR UP will have a parent meeting on ways to “Keep your student in school”. Text Box: The meeting will be in the PMHS Auditorium from 7-8 pm. March 13, 9th grade Science students will tour UH Physics Department. March 27, interested students will visit the San Jacinto College Culinary Arts Department. March 28, College Forum Day at Dobie High School. Text Box: GEAR UP Up-Coming Events for PMHS 9th Graders Text Box: On Thursday, January 29, students interested in the medical profession went on a tour at Memorial Southeast and the San Jacinto College School of Nursing. On Friday, December 5, a group of PMHS 9th graders had the opportunity to visit the Rice University campus. Students listened to an hour orientation given by one of Rice’s Admissions Counselors and toured the Rice campus. Text Box: Our students even had the opportunity to eat their lunch at the student center. In early November, PMHS 9th graders had the opportunity to attend a University of Houston orientation which lasted for about an hour. The students were given a tour of the UH campus. Afterwards, the students attended a picnic and the UH Homecoming football game .
