  Resources  

  • Fiction, Nonfiction, Biography, and Story Collection areas
 
  • Reference collection for in-house use and research
 
  • Professional collection and audio visual materials for faculty use or student researchers
 
 
  • Periodicals and newspapers for reading or browsing while in the library
 
  Computer Resources  
 
  • The Maverick Online Public Access Catalog provides easy browsing of the library’s print and AV collections
 
 
  • Thirty-six computers available for student use of the OPAC / Library Catalog, subscription databases, and the Internet.
 
  Copy Machines  
 
  • Copy machines are available, both for print copies and for computer printing. Copies are $.10 per page.
 
 
  • Users of the copy machine or computer printers are responsible for abiding by all United States Copyright policies.
 
  Borrowing of Materials  
 
  • Three books may be checked out at one time.  The LMC asks that students check out only two books from any one collection area.
 
 
  • Books are checked out for a two week period.
 
 
  • A PMHS ID badge is required for checkout of all materials. 
 
 
  • Dates are stamped in the front of each book to remind patrons of the date due.
 
 
  • Fines are $.05 per day for each late item.  Late fees continue to accumulate but are not collected until the total reaches $1.00.
 
 
  • Students with fines and overdue books will lose library checkout privileges
 
  Computer Use   

  • LMC Internet usage is specifically for school related use only. 
 
  • Students wanting to use LMC computers for research or Internet use MUST sign in at the front desk and request an Internet User Card.  The Internet User Card must be displayed on the top of the assigned computer.
 
 
  • Any attempt to violate the provisions of the PISD / PMHS Network / Acceptable Use Policy may result in access to the network or the Internet being denied and may also result in school discipline.
 
 
  • Internet access is through the Maverick Library Internet pages.
 
 
  • No personal data disks or flash drives are to be used in LMC computers.  
 
 
  • Games or personal CD’s are not to be used in LMC computers.
 
 
  • Access to the LMC web page, and the OPAC / Library Catalog is through link buttons on the LMC computer desktop.
 
  Library Policy  
 
  • The LMC is open for before and after school use.  Students are invited to use the LMC for homework, book checkout or browsing, reading magazines and newspapers, or working on research projects during these times.
 
 
  • During the school day faculty signed admits are required for all students visiting the Maverick Library Media Center.
 
 
  • Students must sign in at the circulation desk when they arrive at the LMC.
 
 
  • Students using the Internet must sign in and request an Internet User Card to display at their assigned computer.
 
 
  • No food or drinks (including water) are permitted in the LMC.
 
 
  • A PMHS ID card is required for all book checkouts.
 
 
  • All materials must be checked out through the circulation desk before leaving the library
