White:  Rappin' wit da G-dawgs!

Greek Project 

 

  You and your partner will create a “rap” song about a topic from Greek culture.

 You will be graded on 5 different categories:

A. Lyrics

B. Sources

C. Content

D. CD cover

E. Performance


 A. Lyrics Requirements:   

1. Group Name (related to topic)

2. Song Title (related to topic)

3. Word Count: 120 minimum

4. Structure must include (1) Verse 1 (2) Chorus (3) Verse 2

 B.  Sources Requirements:

1. Three (3) internet sources (authentic, no Wikipedia or Google without specific permission)

2. Two (2) printed sources

3. Must turn in source form or printed sheet

 On the first day at the library, ˝ of the class can research on the computers while the other ˝ looks for books/articles. On the second day, the sides switch between computers and books.

 
If you want to use online articles as printed sources, it must be from a published magazine/journal and it must be approved by Ms. Locklear before you can use it.

 C. Content Requirements:

1. Fifteen (15) facts about your topic must be included in your “rap”.

 

Facts can be single word mentions or references such as people/places/concepts/ideas. 

An example of a fact: Alexander of Macedonia once said…

 D. CD Cover Requirements:

1. One Visual/Symbol of your topic

2. Song Title

3. Group Name

4. Color (Black and White must be justified to Ms. Locklear)

5. Must be actual size of CD case and fits in case.

Extra Credit! If your group turns in your CD cover in a CD case, you will be awarded.

 E. Performance Requirements:

Both Partners must be actively involved.  Examples: partners alternate between lyrics or one partner creates beat while other raps

Extra Credit! Opportunities for performance include:

1. Greek Costumes

2. Choreography with the lyrics
