The assignment

A research project is a requirement for English IVA.  For your research project you may choose ONE of the following options.  However, choice of a particular option is NOT a guarantee of a grade for that option.  Your grade is determined by satisfaction of criteria on the rubric.  Once you sign up for a particular grade option, you may not change your mind.  Therefore, you should carefully consider the options before making a choice.

Information needed

Your research should gather information that provides "data" to support your position, statistics, definition (s) and a direct quotation from an expert.

This information will be gathered from a minimum of four sources:  at least one of the sources must be a book.  You may use more than one book.  Read the Class Handouts to get complete information. 

Resources

The subscription databases shown on the Research Resources page provide your electronic / subscription or "Internet" resources for your project.  Reference books will be found on your class reserve cart or through the Library Catalog.

Evaluating Information

Be sure to utilize credible and reliable sources  -- Resources found on the Research Resources page have authority and can be considered credible and reliable

Citing Sources

A Works Cited page is to be included with your paper. 

Your Works Cited page must be created using NoodleTools.  This Library Worksheet for Citing Sources  will offer you help as you gather citation information.
