The assignment |
You live in a town that enjoys a wooded park
area. Many people in the town use the park for recreation and the
park is surrounded by homes, schools and other structures. Deer
numbers have grown steadily in the four-square mile area that includes
the park and the surrounding area. In fact, the deer exceed the
area's biological carrying capacity. And the incidence of lyme
disease, deer-vehicle collisions and property damage are all on the rise
throughout this part of town. A town meeting has been called to
collect citizens' opinions about how to best address this issue. |

Evaluating Information |
Be sure to utilize credible and reliable
sources -- articles that are self-published or that rely on
personal opinion, publications that are slanted in favor of one side, or
sites that are strongly commercial will not meet criteria required from
good researchers. |
