Breeds and Species

 
  STEP 1.  Task Definition  
 
  • A team of two will create a PowerPoint presentation consisting of at least 10 slides.  Your team will be assigned a breed from a certain species of livestock to research.    A grade will be given for your PowerPoint and a grade will be given for your presentation to the class.
 

What information is needed?   
 
  • If using a particular breed include:
    • cover slide
    • history and origin
    • facts about the breed
    • breed characteristics
    • advantages of breed
    • disadvantages of breed
    • purpose of breed
    • list of breeders where these can be located
    • references and links
    • pictures are a plus
 
 
  • If using a particular species include:
    • cover slide
    • history of species
    • facts about species
    • list of breeds within species
    • routine maintenance and housing
    • feeding
    • references and links

  STEP 4.  Use of Information  
 
  • Notes and information on slides must be in your own words. 
  • Cutting and pasting text into a PowerPoint presentation straight from Internet resources is plagiarism! 
 

STEP 5.  Rules to follow  
 
  • Presentation must be at least 10 slides long
  • Each person presents equally in presentation.
  • Presentations will be 8 - 10 minutes in length
  • Each student will be graded individually
  • At the end you will need two questions and their answers from your presentation.
  • Be sure and include everything listed in Step 1. Information Needed.  (see above)
 
 

How will I credit my sources? 

 
 
  • One slide should provide a list of references and Internet resources used.
