Rome Breaking News – Live at V…


The assignment

Your team will create a NEWS BROADCAST live from Ancient Rome.  It is the Ides of March (March 15) in the year 44 B.C. and Julius Caesar has just been murdered.  In teams of 3-4, each member chooses 2 topics to research and perform (must include Anchor role in groups of 3). 

The assassination of Julius Caesar is the Breaking News.

Each team member will need at least five different sources which are utilized in the production:   

 Each member of the team will need at least two printed sources and three database sources (authentic, no Wikipedia or Google searches) to gather specific information to expand your outline from chapter seven. (A documentation (citation) page is required from each member of the team.)

 

The subscription databases shown on the Research Resources page provide your electronic or "Internet" resources for your project.  


Evaluating Information

Be sure to utilize credible and reliable sources  -- articles that are self-published or that rely on personal opinion, publications that are slanted in favor of one side, or sites that are strongly commercial will not meet criteria required from good researchers.  Resources found on the Research Resources page have authority and can be considered credible and reliable   


Citing Sources

Keep a list of resources used.  Each member of the team will need three printed sources and three database sources The Citing Sources Worksheet will be turned in as your list of resources used.
