Become a Mythmaker

Pre-AP World History -- Locklear

Assignment:

Prior to the ancient Greeks there was little scientific understanding of the world and how it worked.  Stories, called myths, involving the Greek gods were created to explain things such as thunder, lightning, earthquakes and other phenomenon.

Evaluate the information you find to determine:

What might be the title of your myth?

Who will be the god or goddess involved in your myth?

What will your myth involve:  emotion, natural phenomenon, moral truth, etc?

 What Information Do I need?

After you have read a few Greek myths and learned more about the Greek gods and goddesses you are to write an original Greek myth using one of the Greek gods or goddesses.

Your myth can explain a natural phenomenon, teach a moral truth or deal with an emotion.
