1.  Read the article and locate three important facts that all together will provide a brief history or overview of your topic. (Computer / subscription database ABC-CLIO's ISSUES)

2.  Provide three relevant facts about one important person linked to your topic.  Provide sufficient information to fully explain the link between the person and the issue.   (Computer / subscription database ABC-CLIO's ISSUES)

3.  Fine one related event or newsworthy issue and provide at least three supporting facts to proved its significance.   (Computer / subscription database ABC-CLIO's ISSUES)

4.  Select the DISCUSSION AREA in ABC-CLIO's Issues.  Select one question from those listed.  Answer the question you select based on evidence from your reading.

5.  Select a magazine or newspaper  article that elaborates, provides supporting evidence or interesting information about your teen issue. (Use Gale's Publication Search to locate one of the following periodicals:  Newsweek, Time, Teen People, Scholastic Choices, People Weekly, Current Health2, Houston Chronicle or the New York Times.)

6. Select a second magazine or newspaper article that elaborates, provides supporting evidence or interesting information about your teen issue. (Again, use Gale's Publication Search to locate one of the following periodicals but select a different periodical than the one you used in question #5:  Newsweek, Time, Teen People, Scholastic Choices, People Weekly, Current Health2, Houston Chronicle or the New York Times.)

7-A.  Use a dictionary (not online) to locate a dictionary meaning (denotative) of the word that best describes your issue. 

7-B.  Based on what you have read and now understand about your topic provide a connotative meaning of the teen topic you have researched.  (Do not answer this until your research is almost complete.)

8.  Use a book or print reference source to gather basic information about your issue.  Provide and explain at least three facts essential to a good understanding of your issue.

9.  Use a book or print reference source to find one related event or newsworthy issue about your topic.  Provide at least three supporting facts that show why that event is important or newsworthy.

10.  Use a book or print reference source to list two organization that provide support for individuals experiencing this issue.
