Topic:
Archetype-based. Once you have had your
topic approved, you may not change it without teacher
approval! The research is to be written in
PERSUASIVE/INFORMATIVE format, with the main topic broken down
into two subsections.
Grading: 2 Parts--
Daily grades will be given on return of parent
letter and acquisition of materials, approval of thesis
statement, rough draft of works cited, outline and rough draft.
Talking, sleeping, wasting time, etc. will result in points
being deducted from this grade.
The final research project must be typed outside
of class and formatted according to instructions. Final
papers will be turned in to MY hands only, and a form must be
signed indicating its proper submission. No credit will be
granted if a paper "disappears" and there is no signed form.
It will be graded on 4 different areas
and will count as 600+ points; this grade will be
determined using the attached grading scale. [handout
given in class]
Work will not be accepted late without prior
written authorization from teacher for ANY reason,
including--but not limited to--ISC and Guidance Center
assignments occurring during ANY portion of this research
process.
The time-span of this project will affect the
entire 6 weeks period. Don't even THINK about passing if you do
not do your research project!
Assembly of Completed Research
Project:
The final product must be 3 paragraphs long,
including an introductory paragraph and two body paragraphs,
assembled in your folder.
The following items must be included in the
brads of this folder in this order:
--cover page
--title page
--final revised research paper (including
parenthetical documentation)
--final Works Cited
--all parts of this research packet (in
the back pocket of the folder)
