Materials:

1 absolutely immaculate, pristinely clean folder with brads and pockets per group

parent letter signed and returned

Material due date _____________________for a 100 point grade.

Topic:

Archetype-based.  Once you have had your topic approved, you may not change it without teacher approval!  The research is to be written in PERSUASIVE/INFORMATIVE format, with the main topic broken down into two subsections.

Grading:  2 Parts--

Daily grades will be given on return of parent letter and acquisition of materials, approval of thesis statement, rough draft of works cited, outline and rough draft.  Talking, sleeping, wasting time, etc. will result in points being deducted from this grade.

The final research project must be typed outside of class and formatted according to instructions.  Final papers will be turned in to MY hands only, and a form must be signed indicating its proper submission.  No credit will be granted if a paper "disappears" and there is no signed form.

It will be graded on 4 different areas and will count as 600+ points; this grade will be determined using the attached grading scale.  [handout given in class]

Work will not be accepted late without prior written authorization from teacher for ANY reason, including--but not limited to--ISC and Guidance Center assignments occurring during ANY portion of this research process.

The time-span of this project will affect the entire 6 weeks period. Don't even THINK about passing if you do not do your research project!
