A shout out goes to all of our boys and girls golfers
who competed at the District 22-5A Golf Tournament and showed great improvement
during the golf season.
An
Eagle who soared to new heights is Raquel Trevino who was named First Team
All-District and will be representing PHS at the Regional Tournament next week.
Raquel is the first Lady Eagle Golfer to ever advance to the regional
Tournament.

The PHS A Cappella Choir competed in Region 19 UIL on Thursday, April 9. They
made a Sweepstakes receiving a 1 on Stage and in Sightreading. Thank you for

The Pasadena Theatre competed in UIL One Act Play last night. They worked
really hard on making this show great and represented the school well. Students
received individual honors for their performances and hard work they are:

Noe Rodriguez: All-Star cast
Enrique Cavazos- All-Star cast
Christian Sanchez- Outstanding Technician award.
Woo Hoo! and Congratulations! PHS art students Julia Martinez, Steve Gonzalez,
Ashley Gonzalez, Erika Hernandez, Masiel Cruz, and Gabriela Rodriguez worked
collaboratively to create Hurricane Ike inspired sculptures. Their sculptures
have been accepted in the upcoming Contemporary Art Museum’s Teen Council
exhibit titled: Contents Under Pressure! The exhibit opens February 26.

Raquel Trevino, a freshman, finished first yesterday at the Clear Brook
Invitational Golf tournament.

12/8/08: The Pasadena Eagles Academic Decathlon team participated in district
competition last Thursday and Friday, where they earned the honor of second
place team, coming in ahead of South Houston, Sam Rayburn, AND Pasadena
Memorial. They also won second place team in the SuperQuiz competition, behind
Dobie.
In addition to the team honors, the Eagle team garnered EIGHTEEN individual
medals in various events, as follows:
Ceci Delgado - 1st in SuperQuiz, 1st in Language & Literature, 1st in Music, 1st
in Social Science, 3rd in Economics, 2nd in Essay (total 6 medals)
Adriana Tovar - 3rd in SuperQuiz, 2nd in Language & Literature, 2nd in Music,
2nd in Interview, and 1st in Math with the outstanding score of 657 out of 1000
possible points!!! (total 5 medals)
Selene Reyes - 1st in Art, 3rd in essay, and 2nd in Math with an excellent score
of 514 (total 3 medals)
Laura Arteaga - 1st in Language & Literature
Yazmin Ochoa - 3rd place in Speech
Arelie Urbina - 2nd place in Speech
Autumn Bates - 3rd place in Essay
In addition to their medals in individual events, the following students were
awarded trophies for scoring the highest point totals in their competition
category:
Ceci Delgado - 2nd place Scholastic with 6517 points
Selene Reyes - 3rd place Scholastic with 6120 points
Adriana Tovar - 3rd place Varsity with 6093 points

Mr. Krotofil would also like to announce that the 2008
Pasadenian has been selected as a National Semi-Finalist for Taylor Publishing's
National magazine -"YEARBOOK YEARBOOK." Many of last year's staff are on the
current yearbook staff this year, so make sure you order the 2009 version of
Pasadena's award -winning yearbook!
Monday night, Oct. 13th, the following A Cappella women competed
in the first round of region tryouts. Amy Story-Alto, Becky Armenta-Alto, My
Tang-Second Soprano, and Cheveon Owens, First Soprano. Cheveon and Becky will be
advancing to the second level of tryouts on November 10. Two of these students
made the Top Ten. Cheveon is number 4 and Becky is number 8 in their zone.
