PROCESS FOR APPLYING
FROM OUTSIDE THE USA

Thank you in advance for your interest in the Pasadena Independent School District. We hope that the information provided on this page will answer any questions you may have and that the step-by-step process outlined below, will help you when completing the teacher application. Should you have any questions or need more information, we invite you to contact the Human Resources Dept. at 800-356-6050 / 713-920-6905. WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO APPLY:

Individuals whose degree(s) / certificate(s)/ credential(s) are from outside the country, will need to have these documents evaluated by a credential evaluator accepted by the State Board For Educator Certification, SBEC. Please contact the Human Resources Dept. or visit the SBEC website at: sbec.state.tx.us, to obtain a list of these service providers. These services MUST include a translation, an evaluation and course- by- course analysis with the Grade Point Average. The credential evaluators will charge a fee for their services.

If you are a certified teacher in your country, the Test of Spoken English (TSE) is also required. The TSE is offered worldwide and you can obtain information from their website, www.toefl.org

The evaluation of credentials and a score of 50 or above on the Test of Spoken English, are initial requirements necessary to process the application and to determine eligibility. If you are a certified teacher in your country, upon employment the SBEC will review your evaluation / credentials and will require additional information to determine reciprocity.

THERE ARE NO DISTRICT FEES REQUIRED FOR PROCESSING THE EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION.

OBTAINING AN APPLICATION:

You can download the application off this website by clicking on application under the heading Human Resources then follow the instructions. If you have difficulty downloading the application, contact the Human Resources Dept. at 800-356-6050 / 713-920-6905 or, email an HR Specialist to request that one be mailed to you. Be sure to provide your name and mailing address.

It is essential to the application process that all required documents accompany the completed application. FAXED OR E-MAILED DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

INITIAL INTERVIEW:

The initial interview may be scheduled only if the applicant has a completed application on file. Please allow a minimum of two weeks from the date the application was mailed before scheduling the interview. The interview can be done over the phone but it must be scheduled in advance.
