Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Associate's degree
OR
-Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education
(minimum 48 hours or more)
OR
-Pass district's Paraprofessional's Assessment of Competencies

-Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC)

Requirements and Skills:
-Ability to: work with special needs students
(All levels: ELEMENTARY, INTERMEDIATE. HIGH SCHOOL)
: restrain disruptive students
: work in a stressful situation and maintain confidentiality issues
-Assist : teacher in routine classroom management duties
: in the loading and unloading of the school bus
: with individual student's personal hygiene needs
-Lift, move, and position students in a variety of settings
-Feed or assist students in feeding themselves
