**  Must be able to pass PISD Police Department Exam**  

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Have a current Texas Peace Officer’s license/TCLEOSE certified
  • If applicants are not currently TCLEOSE certified, they must be within 30 days of completing the Academy and passing the TCLEOSE exam at time of testing
  • Must possess a valid Texas drivers license and good driving record (Will check MVR)
  • Must meet and maintain liability coverage eligibility
  • Law enforcement experience preferred

Prospective applicants must pass:

  • Extensive background check

  • Physical agility test

  • Polygraph

  • Drug screen

  • Physical exam

Waiver and Release Form

In order to participate in the Pasadena I.S.D. Police Department’s entry level testing (both written and physical), you and your physician must sign the Medical Release Form.  The release form ensures that you are physically capable of performing the activities described.

 Bring this form with you on your test date.  Do not mail the form.  You will need to wear appropriate athletic attire when participating in the physical testing.  You will not be allowed to take the written tests without presenting the signed Medical Release Form.    

 Process

Applicants must register online and download the Medical Release Form prior to testing date.  The Medical Release Form must be signed by the applicant and a physician prior to testing. 

On the date of testing, applicants must bring their signed Medical Release Form, valid photo identification, and proof of TCLEOSE certification or Academy status.  

Testing will consist of the Nelson-Denny reading comprehension.  Applicants who score a 13 or higher on the Nelson-Denny will be given the L.E.V.E.L. test.  A study guide is available for the L.E.V.E.L. test and can be found at: http://bannonandassociates.com/entryleveltest.html

A Physical Agility test will be administered to those who pass the L.E.V.E.L.   Those who pass the Physical Agility test will be given a background packet that must be returned by the designated date and time. 

Applicants will then be scheduled for an initial interview and M-Pulse testing.  A background will then be performed and those who progress will be scheduled for a polygraph examination.  Upon successful completion of the polygraph exam, the applicant will be scheduled for an oral interview board.  Those applicants who successfully complete the interview board will be scheduled for a final interview with the Chief of Police.

TEST DATE:     December 12, 2009

0700 hours       Sign-in begins

0800 hours       Nelson-Denny starts (no one will be admitted after 0800 hours)

At the conclusion of the Nelson-Denny, applicants will be given a break while tests are graded. 

Those passing the Nelson-Denny will be given the L.E.V.E.L. test. 

                        The test will be graded and applicants will be given time for lunch.

Applicants who successfully pass the L.E.V.E.L. test will return from lunch and take the Physical Agility test.

Applicants will be given two attempts that afternoon to pass the Physical Agility test.

All testing will be completed by 1800 hours.
