Instructional Specialist for Dual Language and PK-K Bilingual/ESL

Qualifications:

Masters Degree
Bilingual/ESL certification
Trained in ILD and PDAS
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and English fluently
Five years teaching experience in an elementary bilingual/ESL setting
Knowledge of federal, state and local rules and policies for the bilingual/ESL and Dual Language programs

Preference:

Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to the mission and objectives of the
Pasadena Independent School District
A minimum of three years administrative experience at the campus or central office level is an asset
Knowledge of elementary TEKS curriculum in all subject areas
Strong knowledge of instruction and Bilingual/ESL and Dual Language methodology, curriculum and assessment
Ability to evaluate program and effective teaching practices
Ability to collaborate with administrations, campus personnel, and support staff
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including skills on consensus building, listening, oral communication, mediation, organization, time management, fiscal responsibility, and working in a team setting toward shared goals
Ability to provide leadership and support campuses in all areas
Extensive staff development background and demonstrated proficiency in the delivery of staff development and the facilitation of adult learning
Ability to develop and maintain a budget
Assistance with selection and purchase of materials and supplies for the program

This position will be responsible for program development and coordination of the Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten program, including dual language K-4
