Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor Degree
Preference:
Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Accredited Construction
Management Curriculum
Professional License preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Thorough knowledge of construction methods, educational specifications and
state laws dealing with construction and service personnel
Thorough knowledge of ADA rules and guidelines
Working knowledge of asbestos rules and environmental compliance regulations
Thorough knowledge of energy management techniques
Minimum Experience:
10 years of administrative experience with a minimum of 5 years as a
facilities manager
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise
and coordinate the following departments: Operations, Maintenance,
Transportation and Facilities and Construction
2. Plan and
direct the work of all building architects and other professional personnel
involved in the design and construction of school campuses
3.Determine
and initiate the proper action to be taken to effectively plan the facility
maintenance program for all campus locations
4. Conduct
routine and periodic inspection of all schools and facilities
5. Meet
regularly with the directors of all service departments to review all
activities and advise, coordinate and plan required actions of each
department
6. Interview
and evaluate all district facility consultants including architects and
engineer
7. Review
and oversee all specifications and cost estimates on all proposed
construction contracts
8.
Coordinate all environmental compliance for all district facilities as it
appears to EPA and Texas Department of Health regulations
9. Assist
demographic planning as it applies to bond issue and construction master
planning
10. Prepare
annual priority list of capital improvements to be performed on all district
sites
11. Evaluate
and coordinate all budget activities for four service departments and staff
12. Provide
support and assistance to all principals and/or their designee on all
facility concerns at their respective campuses
13. Prepare
and evaluate the energy management program
14. Perform
other duties as may be assigned
