Tex-Anns to hold annual 'Buddy Clinic'

On Saturday, Oct. 6, local boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grades will have an opportunity to be part of the Sam Rayburn High School vs. Deer Park High School varsity football game halftime show.

Kids who attend the Sam Rayburn Tex-Anns annual Fall Buddy Clinic in the school’s gym on Saturday from 8-11 a.m. will get to dance with the Tex-Anns during the game’s halftime show at 1 p.m. that day. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the cost is $25 per child.

The Tex-Anns will teach the participants a jazz/prop dance. Students will enjoy snack time and games at the clinic and will receive a certificate at the end for their participation.

“The purpose of this clinic is to involve the children of the community with the Tex-Ann program with a fun activity such as dance to get them moving,” said the Tex-Ann director Jennifer Frost. “It’s a great thing for kids who are interested in dancing because it shows them what they have to look forward to in high school as far as dance is concerned. It’s really fun and rewarding for everyone involved.”

All students will be provided with a shirt to perform in and may buy the shirt at the end of the day for $10 if they want to keep it.
