Dedication for new San Jacinto Intermediate is Nov. 11

The official dedication of the new San Jacinto Intermediate School will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the campus, 3600 Red Bluff.

As part of the dedication, a program will be held and tours of the new school will be provided.

San Jacinto’s original campus on San Augustine opened in the fall of 1959 and many generations of students passed through the school’s doors in the past 49 years. When San Jacinto opened in 1959, it housed seventh through ninth grades that included an active vocational program. The school transitioned into an intermediate campus with sixth, seventh and eighth grades in the mid-1960s.

The new San Jacinto new campus is larger and equipped with the newest technology that enables teachers to provide challenging and innovative learning experiences for their students.

Construction of the new building was made possible by the community’s voters who cast their ballots in favor of the district’s 2004 bond issue.
