Pasadena ISD schools show significant gains
as state Gold Performance Acknowledgement campuses

Several schools in the Pasadena Independent School District received Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency for continued increases in many academic areas on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test.

Overall, 30 schools were recognized for their performance in Math and 25 were noted for their gains in reading. In addition, 23 campuses were distinguished for Writing scores and 18 campuses were acknowledged for gains in attendance.

Four schools received commended ratings in science and five campuses received the same rating for their performance in social studies. Five campuses received recognition for comparable improvement in Reading and English Language Arts, while six schools were noted for comparable improvement in Math. Pasadena Memorial High School was recognized with a gold performance acknowledgement for its gains in the Texas Success Initiative in English Language Arts and Dobie High School was credited for increases in the Texas Success Initiative in Math.

The Texas Legislature created the Gold Performance Acknowledgment program in 2001 to publicly recognize districts and campuses for high performance in areas that are in addition to those used to determine state accountability ratings.
