Twenty-four Beverly Hills Intermediate School students attended the marine exploration Club field trip.  During this field trip, the students visited Galveston Island State Park and the N.O.A.A. Sea Turtle Facility. While at Galveston Island State Park the students learned about the dangers of pollution, went birding, collected and identified shells, and used cast nets and seines to catch fish, shrimp, and crabs.  These students have been working on a 14 week science curriculum (written by Artist Boat) as part of an after school program sponsored by Pasadena ISD GEAR UP.  Artist Boat is an organization out of Galveston that provides educational workshops, field trips, and educator staff development.
