Scott Harrell, principal at Garfield Elementary was named District 4 TEPSAN of the Year for the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). Harrell currently serves as District 4 president. Each year, members from the 20 TEPSA districts across the state honor a colleague who makes a difference in the lives of Texas students. Honorees will be recognized at TEPSA’s Summer Conference in June. “These educators hold themselves and Texas students to high standards – we are proud of their work,” said TEPSA Executive Director Sandi Borden. Harrell received his master's from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He has served as a district officer since 2003. TEPSA represents more than 5,300 elementary and middle school leaders, including principals, assistant principals, central office administrators and supervisors of reading, mathematics, science, special education and other disciplines. Formed in 1917, TEPSA was created to improve children’s futures by bettering education at the elementary level. |
